Assisting agencies included Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Police Department, Deerfield Fire, UW Med-Flight, Deer Grove EMS, Marshall EMS, and Cambridge EMS. The details of the crash are as follows: The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating a series of crashes that occurred this afternoon along eastbound I-94 in Dane County near Deerfield. At approximately 3:30p.m., officers responded to a multi-vehicle crash near the 251.2 eastbound mile marker. Troopers made contact with the vehicles and advised that 2 individuals were injured. Officers from Dane County Sheriff’s Office, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, Marshall Police Department, Dane County EMS & Fire and Med-flight responded to the scene. All lanes were shut down both east and westbound for the landing zone for Med-flight to land at the scene. While Med-flight was on scene one of the injuries turned fatal. Eastbound interstate I-94 continues to be shut down for the Technical Reconstruction Unit to investigate the crash. This scene is still active.
