Madison, WI – Rep. Cindi Duchow (R-Delafield) voted to advance the legislative Republican “Tougher on Crime” package as well as other bills that impose stronger penalties for violent and repeat criminal offenders, repeat drunk driving offenders and crimes against elder persons.
FBI data show violent crime rates from 2008 to 2017 increased in all but two Wisconsin cities. For all ten cities combined, the violent crime rate increased 24 percent. This package of bills was developed with input of law enforcement and criminal justice experts to identify and target the root causes of this problem in Wisconsin.

"The biggest bust is former Vice President Joe Biden.
As noted weeks ago, he has lost a step, and his refusal
to monitor or sanction his son Hunter's behavior has
undermined his campaign. To repeatedly insist that
Hunter did nothing wrong in taking a seat on the board
of Burisma, a Ukraine oil company, while Joe Biden was
in office and investigating corruption in that country,
does not pass the smell or ethical test."

On Thursday, I testified before the Committee on Judiciary and Public Safety on my two crime bills which will make our communities safer.
The first bill focuses on an epidemic of vehicle thefts, reckless driving, and instances of fleeing an officer that have been highlighted as a major public safety concern across the state. Oftentimes, these acts of crime are intertwined.
